Laurel soccer team returns 10 starters

The Laurel soccer team didn't quite reach as far as the record setting Gators of last season, but coach Tibi Regele knows the team will be a handful next season.
Laurel started eight freshmen and sophomores this season one year after reaching the state title game in Division III for the first time. The Gators lost, 1-0, to rival Gilmour Academy in a district semifinal. They finished at 10-4-3.

After a scoreless first half, Lancers leading scorer Michelle Krebs took a through pass from Kelly Harrington and scored 2:30 into the second half of the Division III district semifinal. Goalkeeper Bridget Potratz’s two saves helped lead Gilmour, ranked fourth in the state, to its 10th shutout of the year.
