Division I at Lorain County Community College - Bay took the team title with 50 points thanks to Maddie Britton's field-leading time of 19:12.41. Avon , Magnificat and Amherst placed second, third and fourth, respectively, to also qualify for next week's Tiffin regional.

Several area teams ran in the Legends Cross Country Meet Saturday at the Trumbull County Fairgrounds with the Shaker Heights girls earning the highest finish at third in the Division I portion of the race.

The Beaumont cross country team narrowly defeated Walsh Jesuit as the Blue Steaks won the Blue Division of the McDonough Invitational last weekend at Forest Hill Park in Cleveland Heights.
The Blue Streaks had 44 team points with Walsh earning 45. Holy Name was third with 97.
