    , October 29, 2009 8:32 p.m.

Kickoff: West Shore Conference game, 7:30 p.m., Fairview High, 4507 West 213th St., Fairview Park. Call 440-356-3500.
    Records: Rocky River 7-2, 5-1; Fairview 4-5, 3-3.
What to watch: The surprising Pirates can clinch a WSC title tie and a state playoff spot in Division II, Region 6 with a victory. Rocky River overcame a 21-7 halftime deficit to stun North Ridgeville, 23-21, as quarterback Robbie Plagens completed 20 of 41 passes for 265 yards and three touchdowns. His favorite receiver is sure-handed Bobby Porter, who didn't score a touchdown but hauled in seven passes for 101 yards. The Pirates also took advantage of five Ranger turnovers. Fairview has the best defensive line in the WSC led by Mike Doherty, Cortez Harris and junior Gage Falcone, and a powerful running back in Jose Sanchez, who carried 44 times for 249 yards last week. What the Warriors haven't had lately is good fortune, and last Friday they lost in overtime, 27-24, to Avon despite a 21-yard field goal by Canaan Lorek which gave them a 24-21 lead.
    PD pick: Rocky River.
