Sunday is one of the most important days of the season and it doesn't involve games or the end of a grading period. It is pairings day throughout Ohio, the day coaches meet at respective tournament sites to determine seeding for the sectional/district tournaments.
Area teams will participate at 19 sites in the four divisions. Division I tournaments will be held at Alliance, Brecksville, Copley, Euclid, Midview, Solon and the Canton Memorial Civic Center. Division II schools will play at Ashtabula Lakeside, Boardman, Stow, Westlake and the Canton Field House. Division III teams are assigned to Harvey, Salem, Warren Howland and Wooster, and Division IV schools will play at Garfield Heights, Struthers and Warren Harding.
The most intriguing tournament in the area is at Solon, where Cleveland Heights, Garfield Heights, John F. Kennedy, Kenston, Shaker Heights and St. Ignatius are assigned. All are in The Plain Dealer Top 25.
St. Edward should receive the top-seed in the tournament at Brecksville, where its stiffest competition should come from . . . uh, no one.
