Wildcats Upset Bees

The Mayfield Wildcats won their home opener at Cleveland Browns Stadium against the Medina Bees in a 37-21 upset. On the opening drive of the game Mayfield took the ball down field and Scored the first points of the game with a field goal.

Medina came back scoring on a 95 yard kickoff return by Walter Bailey making the score 7-3 in Medina's favor. Mayfield however came back and scored on a 90 yard kickoff return by Anthony Canganelli.

Medina would not give up and after a fumbled snap their Quarterback turned a mishap into a 71 yard touchdown run. But after that the Bees were in for a stinging reality.

On their first drive of the second quarter the bees had a mishandled lateral that became a fumble recovered by Mayfield's Ray Guerrini which eventually lead to a four yard run by Anthony Canganelli for a Mayfield touchdown leaving the score at 20-14 Mayfield.

Mayfields defense continued their defensive output forcing a few more fumbles and recovering them as well. The Wildcats also had major tackles with players such as Johnathan Mangelluzzi, Eugene Sharpe, and Drazen Markovic.

Mayfields offense continued their strike as wel with Quarterback Caden Loew and running back Carlos Cruzado leading the teams rushing game.

Mayfield Plays next at home against Willoughby South.
