The Laurel Gators continued their strong start to the 2013 season by downing Trinity H.S. 6-1 on Friday afternoon. The action began immediatley with both teams demonstrating athletic physical play while the scoring lagged as the Gators worked to adjust to the field and the offsides trap. Laurel got on the board first with a blast to the upper right corner by senior striker Sydney Riddle off of a deft pass from midfielder Mia Mastroianni. The Riddle-Mastroianni show continued throughout the game with Riddle netting 3 goals and 2 assists and Mastroianni netting 2 goals and 2 assists. The final goal came from Junior Nicole Felice who took a pass from Riddle through the defense and past the goalie late in the game. The Laurel defense continued their strong start having allowed only one goal in their first two games. Their next challenge will be at rival Gilmour Academy on Monday at 5:00.
