, October 10, 2012 10:20 p.m.

Brecksville made it a Senior Night to remember as they captured a share of the Southwestern Conference title with a 4-1 victory over visiting Avon Lake on Wednesday night.  The Bees senior class of 2013 went out in fine fashion in their final regular season game as seniors accounted for all the goals and assists.  The Bees were led by senior captain Sarah Sivic who scored 3 first half goals and senior Jaclyn Kubiak who scored her second goal of the season in the second half.

Seniors Allison Stucky and Katie Brumbaugh each contributed two assists to the winning cause.  In goal, senior Jena Lopez started the game and recorded two saves then was replaced by freshman Jennifer Farwell who stopped 3 shots.

For the Shoregals, junior Emily O'Connor scored a goal late in the first half to cut the Brecksville lead to 3-1 at the half.  However, Avon Lake was not able to muster any further scoring in the second half.  Goallkeeping duties for AL were shared by junior Amy Crooks who was credited with 3 saves in the first half and senior Abby Rogers who made 9 saves all in the second half.

With the win, Brecksville moves to 10-3-2 on the season and has won back to back SWC titles.  They will face Hudson in the OHSAA district playoffs next Thursday.

Avon Lake's record drops to 2-7-4 with two regular season games remaining and will face North Olmsted in the playoffs next Wednesday.

In JV action, Avon Lake and Brecksville played to a 1-1 tie.
