They won't get the hype, but some good football games are on deck this weekend: Hey, Tim!

, November 20, 2009 1:07 a.m.

Q: Hey, Tim: St. Ignatius-Glenville was the most hyped football matchup last week and didn't live up to the billing in my opinion. What will be the best game this week?

-- Amy Farrell, Ashley, Ohio

A: Hey, Amy: Any time Canton McKinley and Massillon play, as they do Saturday in Akron, you can't beat the fervor, and that should be a good matchup on the field, as well. McKinley beat Massillon, 35-21, in Week 10, but I see Massillon winning the rematch.

Just outside of Northeast Ohio, the game that really has me pumped is Norwalk St. Paul vs. Bucyrus Wynford in a Division VI game at Ashland. They've scored 173 combined points in the playoffs. At this stage of the postseason, Division VI has the most depth, the most wide-open offenses and the most exciting teams. These next three weekends in that division will be a lot of fun.

Q: Hey, Tim: Last year SportsTime Ohio showed all four high school volleyball finals live. This year they were tape delayed one day. Is this due to the time conflict that occurred with last year's Glenville-St. Ignatius playoff game?

-- Pat Hayes, Cleveland

A: Hey, Pat: That's right. When last year's state volleyball finals went long, STO went to tape-delay on the Glenville-St. Ignatius football game that night, which did not go over well with viewers. STO didn't want to risk that happening again this year, so it showed last Saturday's volleyball finals on Sunday.

The matches are being replayed on STO at various times, and you can catch Padua's remarkable comeback against Lake Catholic in the Division II final Monday at 7 a.m. Former Elyria coach Carol Russo is the color commentator and Mike Cairns, a former college and pro volleyball player, does an excellent job on the play-by-play.
