What to watch: Always the underdog and the smaller team, Lakeview keeps defying expectations. It won the TAC-8 over favorites Girard and Hubbard, then upset Aurora and No. 1 seed Walsh Jesuit in the playoffs, holding them to a combined 16 points. Lakeview’s quick, strong defense is led by middle linebacker Kyle Smedi, the Inland Lakes District co-Defensive Player of the Year. Critical for Lakeview will be the health of 6-2 junior running back Ben Moody, who suffered a leg injury against Walsh. Lake Catholic will try to win on the ground with a terrific trio of backs, Randy Greenwood, Mike Sweigert and Darien Nulick, who combined for 282 yards against Rocky River. Greenwood came back from a one-week suspension and rushed for 105 yards and two TDs, including an impressive game-winning 15-yarder in the fourth quarter.
