Solon and Brecksville-Broadview Heights played a sprited game mixed with four goals and a few yellow cards. Brecksville started the scoring in the first half to take a 1-0 lead with one minute remaining. Solon struck early in the second half after the Brecksvlle defense committed a foul against Solon's senior forward Orlando Cumberlander leading to a penalty kick goal by junior midfielder Scott Welker to tie the game at one a piece. Both teams moved the ball well with each team having several scoring opportunities. Then, with just over ten minutes to go in the contest Solon took the lead as sophomore John King scored on Solon corner kick. However it was Brecksville that had the final say with a relentless offensive attack starting in the midfield that eventually earned them a tie 2-2.
