Strongsville, Ohio – In the regular season finale for both programs, Brunswick finally defeated their neighbors to the north, Strongsville by score of 2-1. This was the first win for Brunswick since 1994.
Senior captain and midfielder Jesse Marinaro scored a go-ahead goal in the 55th minute off a superb cross from sophomore midfielder Justin Paalman. The goal was Marinaro’s 50th point of the season. However, Strongsville responded 15 minutes later off a rebound goal by Drew Sheppard. However, Brunswick responded quickly as junior forward Jake Simonelli scored on a rebound for the game winner just minutes later.
Freshman goalkeeper Gavin Leindecker played brilliantly and earned Man of the Match Honors for Brunswick making seven saves.
