St. Edward baseball player Stetson Allie chosen for Aflac All-American Classic

LAKEWOOD - St. Edward shortstop/pitcher Stetson Allie is among 40 incoming high school seniors selected today to play in the East-West Aflac All-American Classic.

The Aug. 16 game will be played in San Diego at Petco Park, home of the San Diego Padres. It will be televised live on Fox Sports.

Ozzie Smith, a Hall of Fame shortstop, will again serve as the game's honorary chairman.

Allie, a North Carolina recruit, batted .446 this past spring, with 14 extra-base hits, five home runs and 26 RBI. In 14 innings of relief work he struck out 18, gave up four earned runs and had one save.

Players were chosen by experts at the official selection partner, Perfect Game USA.
