Scoring Summary
---
Badin 1st -- Corey VanNatta walked and stole second, then scored when Zach Toerner doubled into the right field corner.
IV 1st -- Matt Wheeler led off the bottom of the first with a towering home run to left field. Logan Gray, Jonny Iacobucci and Bobby Hall followed with singles to load the bases. Josh McFarland got Logan Cozart to pop out on 3-1 for the first out. Zack Baker's fly to left was caught by a charging Scott Staarman for the second out, freezing the runners, and Andy Allensworth struck out as McFarland escaped a huge jam.
Badin 3rd -- Staarman singled to start the inning, and VanNatta drew his second walk of the day. Toerner's sac bunt moved them to second and third, and Brett McKinney's booming double to left center scored them both and chased Matt Wheeler from the mound. Tony Cassano hit Adam Mizer's first pitch for a bloop single, moving McKinney to third. Scott Purcell squeezed McKinney in with a bunt so perfect Mizer was left with no play, making it 4-1.
IV 3rd -- Iacobucci singled, Hall walked, and Cozart's sac bunt was fielded by the pitcher but thrown away, allowing Iacobucci to score and leaving runners on second and third with nobody out for new pitcher Chad Beatty. Baker's deep sac fly was dropped, and two more runs scored. Baker went to second with nobody out. Allensworth bunted Baker to third. Mizer missed a squeeze attempt and struck out, but the pitch got by the catcher and Baker scored to give the Braves a 5-4 lead.
IV 4th -- Wheeler walked and eventually scored on a two-out single by Hall to make it 6-4.
Badin 5th -- McKinney reached on a hot shot the second baseman couldn't handle and was replaced on the bases by Nick Burrus, who advanced to second on a walk and escaped a rundown to get to third. Burrus came into score on a sac fly by Purcell. An infield single by Bud Brown loaded the bases with two outs for Staarman, the leadoff hitter. But he hit one back to Mizer and the Braves kept the lead.
Badin 6th -- VanNatta led off the inning with a triple to straightaway center. Toerner hit one up the middle to score VanNatta and hustled to turn it into a double. He was caught in a rundown trying to score two batters later, though, and Mizer got Scott Purcell to fly out to end the inning and keep the game tied.
IV 8th -- Wheeler walked and advanced to second on a single up the middle by Gray. Iacobucci bunted and Badin threw the ball away trying to get Wheeler at third. He scored easily and Indian Valley celebrated.
